This is a really light and fast introduction to Hibernate. It only covers the really basic stuff, just enough to write simple programs and start talking intelligently about Hibernate and persistence. You'll definitely need something more in depth if you are building a serious application.That being said, it's really easy to read and he takes care to show all examples using both XML configuration files and annotations. The areas he covers give one a really good feeling for what Hibernate does. It's a fast read too, you can finish it off in a few evenings.

Very good book for starting hibernate and ORM fundamentals, maybe not so good for pepole that already know and want to remember

The book is fine if you want to grasp the idea of hibernate in a short time, but the examples the author uses are far from the best so you can get a better idea of each feature, its not a very long book and this is the second edition, I really don't think he didn't have time to find better examples. Also the way he presents the "exercises" might mislead newcomers to a non-proper application of hibernate, the book takes you through an approach of do "this" in your code, if you want to see "this" in your database; imho they both should be independent. Plus a minority of non really important typos but they can be harmful to people that want to use the code as example without many experience.

I liked this book a lot the goal is to give a short quick basics on Hibernate. And the goal is accomplished.

I was hoping for new developments in this field to be covered but little has changed. This book is probably great if you are a lay person looking to find out the basics.

The book's title is not according to its content. The book only covers a brief introduction to classical Feed-Forward Neural Networks. The equations of several pages are not properly rendered.

Come on. This is not a book, it is simply a few pages of cut and paste from other people's work.

Really nice, good price

This is a good introduction to Neural Networks and Machine Learning. Nice historical intro as well. HOwever this is NOT a book on Convolutional Neural Networks, so I was considering a 3-star just because of the highly misleading title.

Doesn't deliver the promise

This is a very terse survey of deep learning algorithms. As an audio book it only makes senses as a study guide for a final exam. There is no illustration of the concepts or anecdotal asides to cue the listener to higher level concepts that would help in comprehension and retention.

Machine learning and neural networks are fascinating topics, and this book does a good job at explaining these complicated concepts. This book is highly recommended for anyone interested in learning more about these groundbreaking technologies.

It's a good, but uneven, GNR bio. I wish that it covered the origins of each song better. The whole process of writing each album is covered in just a few paragraphs. It does cover a lot of the business aspects of the band, and how important the band managers were in their success. I got a real sense of seedy, debauched L.A. in the 80's, and how important that scene was to the origins of the band. I got a good sense of Axl's personality and issues, and how underrated and important Izzy was, but didn't get much sense of Slash's personality or issues aside from drug addiction.Overall, I would say this book focuses a lot on the business side of things, tours, and the drama and conflicts, but doesn't cover the music or musicianship as much as I would have liked. The music is what interests people in a band, so I think band bio's should have a strong focus on the music.The writing is often confusing and repetitive. Frequently, Mick will cover a certain episode in the band's life, then suddenly start talking about things that happened months or years before, and finally come back around to the episode. It can be difficult to follow the timeline. There is usually a reason for this: he is trying to show the same episode from different perspectives, or give a preview before going into the details. I think he could have done a better job of this as a writer, but I do appreciate that he tries to give all sides.One of the frustrating aspects of the book - well, of GNR really - is that for just about any episode in the life of the band, every person involved has a very different, often contradictory, story to tell about it. Not to be political about it, but it reminds me a lot of Donald Trump's presidency - irreconcilable distortions of whatever actually happened. Anyway, such disagreements about what happened are pretty close to the core of the problems that have plagued the band for the past 30 years. So, in that sense, Mick does a good job of presenting the band.The first half of the book is everything up to Use Your Illusion. The second half is everything since. I wish the split had been more 80/20. I got pretty tired of reading about all the drama and letdowns post-UYI. I did like the coverage of Velvet Revolver though. But I ended up skipping past quite a bit of the last 25% because it was so repetitive hearing about tour after tour cancelled or interrupted by the same old excuses, the same old fights, the same old lies.I should mention that this is the only GNR biography I've read, so I can't say how it compares to others. It does cover the band right up to 2017, so it's nice that it includes the Not in this Lifetime tour.

Meticulously researched, excellently written. A fast paced read and a great ride through GNR history that goes right up to the minute. You won't want it to end. Fortunately, the author also wrote a Lenny bio which I just started. Also great. The prefect summer read...you'll want to read over and over again.

Very well-written book. I found myself laughing aloud a few times. Great recap of dialogue and events. The tales of all the drug and alcohol use as well as the whining at each other (of each other) made me nauseous. My Opinion: I think that they are not heroes or musicians of any kind...perhaps they were entertainers at best fraught with emptiness they haven’t yet filled and now in a last ditch effort for money-grab type of touring.

As usual, Mick Wall writes a thorough, compelling and accurate portrayal of the band’s history. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in GNR history. I really enjoyed it.

Was so sad to finish this book by Mick Wall. Buying every book he’s ever written. Such a great read. Guns fan or not, it’s dishy non-fiction fun. And if you’re a rock memoir fan like me, The Dirt, Slash and Scar Tissue are must reads. Xx

Lots of good information, mainly designed for the beginner, but I think it would also be a good basic reference guide for many horse persons. The one thing I really didn't like was the author's statement in the beginning of the book that horses aren't very intelligent. I don't think she meant it the way it comes off, but true horse lovers will likely find this comment offensive. I bought this as a gift and don't own horses myself, and found that statement affected my feelings about the credibility of the rest of the author's statements in the book. If you can look past that comment, I think you'll find this a useful book to have for reference for the care of your horse.

This is a good basic book on basic horsecare. It includes symptoms and possible solutions to problems. I keep this in my tackroom as a reference.The reason I gave this a three star rating instead of higher is because of the title being "Complete Horse Care Manual". The information in this book is very basic and good and as long as you know its not "complete" you will be ok.

This book is awesome! There are plenty of pictures to show you what to do. It is nicely detailed. I love this book. No bad thing about it! Everything is in here, braiding your horses mane, to what to do if your horse has a disease. It's a perfect book! If you're about to care for a horse, or just want to know about horse care, this is the book!

This book has great pictures and excellent information on many topics to help the horse owner.

I found this book to be quite interesting, I bought it as a gift for a friend who is just getting in to horses, and looked it over before giving it. Although most of it is basic, it is not condescending towards the reader, and has many interesting facts. I even learned a few things, and have been a horse person for over 17 years. The photo's chosen to accompany the work are usually helpful, and overall this is an excellent book for someone getting started with horses.

Felt like the prelude/prequal to the actual start on the book/series kind of annoying, feels like it ends right when things are going to start being fun soon😕

But the transition, (I’m assuming it is translated, nothing else would explain the odd wording) is subpar. I’ve given four stars on the worth of the story itself the missing star is a comment on the translation and copy editing.

I'm writing this as a person who has read a lot of translated (and poorly translated) books. This was the WORST translation I have ever seen.

I love the concept but the ending is very abrupt seems like there should be more. Hope there's a second book

Stu Ingraham was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania in 1960. During his senior year at Cedar Crest High School, he won the P. I. A. A. State High School Championship. Stu received a college golf scholarship to play at East Tennessee State University where he played all four years. In his senior year, he was named a third team All-American. After qualifying ninth at P.G.A. Tour School in 1985, he played one full year in 1986 on the P.G.A. Tour. In 1987, Stu moved to the Philadelphia area, where he continued his career as a P.G.A. club professional. Over the years, he has given over nineteen thousand lessons as well as hundreds of junior and adult clinics. As a recognized national player, Stu has competed in nine overall major championships and twenty-five P.G.A. Professional National Championships. Stu has won the Pennsylvania State Open, the Philadelphia Open, has eight Philadelphia P.G.A. Section Player of the Year awards and five Senior Player of the Year awards. His past seven years has been dedicated to playing and teaching. He is currently the head golf professional and director of instruction at the M Golf Driving Range and Learning Center in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, where he also resides. Bob Ockenfuss was born in Southampton, Long Island, New York in 1948. His hometown is East Hampton, New York, where he attended high school and graduated in 1966. During his high school years, Bob played interscholastic baseball, golf and basketball, competing on championship teams in each sport. Bob matriculated to Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania where he majored in history, graduated with honors and played intercollegiate basketball for four years and intercollegiate golf for three years. In 1973, Bob and his wife, Judy, moved to Perkasie, Pennsylvania where Bob began to teach at Central Junior High School within the Pennridge School District. During his tenure at Pennridge, Bob taught a variety of social studies subjects, served as a middle school history department chairperson and also coached interscholastic basketball and golf. He retired in 2007.

This is not your typical "how to swing the golf club" type of book. It is in the format of questions and answers, which makes it an easy to read book. Golfers of all levels will find great "nuggets" of knowledge that will help their golf game. My favorites are the "short game penny theory" and "the toe of the golf club is your friend". This book will not teach you to swing the club, but rather help you play a better game. I think reading this book will help golfers of all skill levels since it does not ask you to swing using a specific technique but rather gives thoughts on how to hit shots and how to score. There are also plenty of anecdotes based on Stu's career that will entertain you and educate you at the same time. If you are a scratch player or just trying to break 100 for the first time, you will find something in this book that makes is well worth the price.

Without a doubt the best golf book I've ever read. Every other game improvement book I have ever read put way too many thoughts into my head. Stu simplifies the game, your process, and even the rules, in a way that has only helped me to improve. Buy this book. Find Stu and take a lesson. Those are 2 of the best things I have ever done for my game.

Easy to read book with some insights you will not find in other golf instruction books

Fantastic book. Extremely insightful.

A very insightful approach to the game. Not at all like those books that deal simply with the mechanics of golf, that drive you crazy when you try to apply to your game. As everyone says, golf is just as much about your mindset as it is with the actual mechanics.It is a very easy and enjoyable read. I have passed it on to several of my friends...Sorry to the author. I should have told them to buy their own copy.I know my game and more importantly my enjoyment of the game has improved since reading this.

If you want to lower your score and have more fun playing golf, get this book. I'm a 12 handicap. The day after reading this well written book, I shot 80, my lowest round in a month. After rereading the chipping section, I shot 82 (which included 2 lost balls due to poor decisions on my part, and two 3 putts), but I played so much better than the score indicated. Yesterday morning, I reread the putting section and shot 79, one over par on the back nine with only 12 putts! Mr. Ingraham gives practical tips for your game and your attitude that should appeal to all who want to improve their skills and enhance their enjoyment of the activity on which we spend so much time and money. Rekindle your enthusiasm, better your game, read this book now.

I loved the format and the fact that it's not the "same old stuff" we've hearing for years. If you have a specific problem area, just go to that section and find the remedy. We'll organized and well written. Finally an instruction book I can understand. Plain english. Great stories from the author on both his teaching and playing experiences. Good book for all levels of player. Would make a great gift for any golfer!

I have a ton of essential oils books and what a great essential oils book this is. Most books are just repeats of what we already know. this book is full of useful information about oils and information on how to make our lives better without the use of toxins. There is a wonderful section on the history and usage of essential oils, individual oil information, health and healing, foods, great DIY information. This is exactly what I thought it would be. This is my main go-to book for essential oil information.

This book keeps getting better and better. Am currently reading from cover to cover for the second time. Includes oil history, usage info, diseases and conditions, usage for massage and reflexology, home , personal & pet care as well as delicious looking recipes at the end. Would absolutely buy this again.

This book is an excellent guide to essential oil usage. You will learn about each oil: what it is, what it does, and how to use it, either by ingesting it, diffusing it, or using it topically. It includes all the cautions and warnings needed for safe their use, including advising that you should seek the expertise of health care professionals if you are taking medications or pregnant. Additionally, in the back you will find a few food recipes using essential oils, and many recipes to make your own cosmetics and household cleaners. There is a small pet section as well. I highly recommend it, and will buy for gifts in the future. At this time it is temporarily unavailable in hard cover form, which I recommend, because it is easier to lay flat while using the recipes, so I hope that it becomes available soon.

I LOVE ❤️ this book! It is very easy to read and even more important, relocate later what I've read. 162 pages are an alphabetical list of essential oils. Each is given 3 pages about the particular oil: a picture of the source, some history and description on the first page.page 2 includes info about research studies,safety, and the therapeutic components, while number 3 offers 7 uses for the particular oil.Further on we are given 89 pages for various conditions with suggestions of useful oils and applications. This is so helpful being alphabetical.But my very favorite is chapter 7! It is worth the price of this volume!I have a few other books on this subject, but this is the best.If you only buy one book on the subject, this is the one you should get.

I saw this book in my Chiropractors office and after looking at it for just a few minutes I knew I needed to have this book. The infomation in this book is vast and very well organized. The photography is gorgeous. Someone had complained in a review that the book had a cheap plastic spiral binder. It does have a spiral binder within the hardcover but, it is plastic coated metal. My only complaint about this book is the book itself and not the contents. The paper is very very thin. I would suggest going through the book gently at first as some of the pages stick close to the binding. I'm still going to give 5 stars though, because I know if it had better quality paper the book then would be around $60 or $70 as opposed to the $31 that I paid. So I'll just be more gentle with this awesome book!

It has general information of essential oils and why to use them. Best part, it has DIY recipes for cleaners, children care, personal and more.

I'm learning about essential oils and this book seems like a great book to help me understand what oils help where.

Wonderfully well-written and informative book on essential oils and their many uses. I loved the interaction between the three authors and their life stories. But more importantly, the essential oils are presented in an excellent way with examples of how to utilize each oil.All in all, an expertly researched and terrific book!
